About Me

Hello! My name is Amreeta, and I am currently pursuing my PhD in Political Science at the University of California, Merced. I have a BSc in Politics and International Relations from the University of Bristol, UK. My work sits at the intersection of computational methods and social science, where I use tools like natural language processing, computer vision, and multi-modal models to analyze how people engage with information in an evolving digital landscape. I’m especially interested in how political actors adapt their strategies in response to new technologies, and how those shifts, in turn, shape mobilization, democratic governance, and public opinion. Through this approach, I seek to better understand the feedback loops between technological innovation, political behavior, and institutional change.

At present, I am serving as the Lab Manager at the Political Economy of Agricultural and Rural Societies (PEARS) Lab, a computational social science lab at UC Merced specializing in natural experiments, machine learning and geospatial methods.
